Chaplains are ordinary people called to extraordinary service. Each year in unique and emergency settings people encounter God because a Chaplain came to them in time of need. It’s what we commonly refer to as “The Ministry of Presence.” Our Chaplains are Christian “missionaries” who serve right here in our local area.

Cowlitz Chaplaincy is NOT funded by any government agency.

Chaplains are not employed by the Sheriff’s Office – they ‘volunteer’ their services to the government agencies. If it were not for the voluntary financial support of individuals, churches and organizations Cowlitz Chaplaincy would not exist. Our Chaplains need your help to continue to fulfill their calling and do what they are trained and gifted to do. Here’s what you can do…

1. Pray for our Chaplains by name. Lift them in prayer regularly that they may be granted the power and skill to minister in the many situations they are called upon to assist with. Ask God to protect them from ‘burn-out’ from having to deal with so much stress in people’s lives.

2. Your financial support will help underwrite this important ministry. Your financial gift will ensure professionally trained Chaplains are available “24-7” – but more importantly, your financial gift will make a difference in someone’s life!
